Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. Marion County Court Docket does not maintain a database of those query terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the resource may be retained so a response can be provided. It is not sold or shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or needed to protect legal rights.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers can receive routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They can help measure aggregate traffic and identify pages that need technical attention. Browser settings can block cookies, though some functions may then operate differently. Analytics providers process their own data under their policies.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, securing, and improving the resource
- Passing a submitted query to the selected search partner
- Reviewing aggregate use and page performance
- Investigating technical errors
- Supporting advertising that may be interest based
No Court-Record Data on File
This resource does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of Marion County court dockets or personal case records. It identifies public routes to the Circuit Clerk, Chancery Clerk, Justice Court, Columbia Municipal Court, and Mississippi Electronic Courts. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the partner's privacy policy, retention practice, and sharing terms rather than this policy. Review the partner's terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk pages, court portals, Mississippi Electronic Courts, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's privacy policy controls that visit. Review it before providing personal details.
Some advertising partners may use their own systems to track activity across sites for advertising purposes.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be processed by:
- Search partners receiving a submitted query
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve content on the pages
- Government bodies when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for information collected by the resource. No internet service can promise complete security, so absolute protection from an unauthorized incident cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. A report that a child supplied information will be reviewed and addressed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Requests concerning information held by this resource can seek access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Court-record access is different: Mississippi's Public Records Act, including Miss. Code §25-61-2 and §25-61-5, directs a requester to the public-record custodian and permits reasonable copying procedures.
- Ask what visitor information is held about you
- Request correction of inaccurate visitor information
- Request deletion where retention is not required
- Use browser controls to limit certain tracking
